Urgent CargoX operational support in Aberdeen

Local attendance, supplier liaison and document coordination for an urgent international shipment.

The situation

An international inspection and assurance organisation required urgent support with an Aberdeen-based manufacturer. Its overseas energy-sector client needed export documents submitted through CargoX before a shipment in Egypt could progress, but direct communication with the supplier had stalled for more than ten days.

This was not an inspection assignment. It required a dependable local representative who could attend, establish contact, communicate the urgency and connect everyone involved.

What GCG did

• Established direct contact with the appropriate supplier representative.
• Reconnected the supplier, coordinating organisation and overseas client.
• Kept the supplier in control of its CargoX account, credentials and authorisation.
• Helped isolate and escalate a blockchain-key issue preventing the envelope from being sent.
• Identified an incorrect shipment reference and coordinated recreation of the correct envelope.
• Captured permitted status evidence and provided a structured completion report.

The outcome

The correct CargoX document envelope was sent during the attendance, with four supplied files visible against the required shipment reference. Communication was restored and the parties had a clear understanding of the submission status.

The only outstanding action when GCG left the site was the certified EUR.1 movement certificate. The supplier agreed to obtain the certified version from the local Chamber of Commerce and upload it once received.

Clear scope and accountability

GCG did not access supplier credentials, approve documentation, conduct an inspection or provide customs clearance. Account access, uploading and final authorisation remained with the supplier.

Client and vendor identities have been withheld. Final customs acceptance and shipment release were outside GCG’s scope.
